Understanding the Managed Print Process

Marimon has helped a wide variety of businesses with Managed Print Services. We’ve delivered maximum benefits in the shortest amount of time thanks to a streamlined, four-step print assessment process.

1) Set Project Objectives

Before we plan a customized managed print strategy, we work with you to identify your specific goals. The most common include:

  • Establishing controls to measure and manage your printing costs
  • Reducing supply theft
  • Consolidating vendors
  • Increasing efficiency
  • Freeing up IT resources

2) Create a Cost Consensus

Once we have your goals established, we examine your current printing solution and determine your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Utizling software called the Data Collection Agent (DCA), we locate the devices on your network and determine your monthly output volume. The DCA is non-invasive and sees only your device information, not the content of your print jobs.

On our way to creating your cost consensus, we take a quick walk through your workplace and map out a floor plan of your printers. We’ll use this floor plan to track usage throughout your office.

3) Develop a Path for Improvement

After we understand your current printing practices, we find ways to improve them. These can include:

  • Removing redundant or underused devices
  • Securing your supply cabinets
  • Moving cost-effective printers to high usage areas

4) Continually Improve

Marimon recognizes that your printing needs will change over time. That’s why we offer quarterly and semi-annual meetings to review your progress. We can discuss usage trends, spotlight the devices that keeping causing you problems and evaluate the overall effectiveness of our program.
